Their vision emerged from combining Baptista’s expertise in engineering simulation tools with Morlot’s AI genetics research to create digital twins of cells - a technology that simulates cellular behaviour to predict drug responses and disease mechanisms.
Jonathan Baptista (CEO) and Jean-Baptiste Morlot (CTO) founded DeepLife in 2019 to tackle the inefficiencies of drug development. The founders sought to leverage multi-omics data and causal AI to map cellular networks, offering partners a scalable alternative to traditional drug development.
